Well, I finally did it.  I’ve taken the plunge into the world of blogging!

Truthfully, I was hoping to start around the first of the year, but I’ve had my hands full with so many things that I just didn’t have the time to try to figure this whole new world of writing down my thoughts and putting it out there for others to read.  I’ve never been much of a writer on my own.  Yes, I took my fair share of writing and English classes in High School and College, but it never was something that I’ve chosen to partake of willingly.  I am very optimistic about my future with blogging and I hope everyone else gets as much out of it as I hope to.

Today is Valentines Day–I haven’t clebrated it nor will I.  I’m not one of those people who dislikes V-Day because it is a “manufactured” holiday.  I’m just currently not connected to anyone right now who would be interested in celebrating the day with me.  But it isn’t all a loss–my reflection of past relationships today inspired me to actual take the step and start the blog.  That, and the fact that I’m sitting here by myself.

Don’t take me wrong–it hasn’t been a bad day.  Nor has it been a bad weekend.  The Winter Olympics started on Friday and I’m such a big fan!  It’s been gloomy outside all weekend but I’ve been able to watch TV and so I’m happy.  I’ve always been a big fan of the winter games–my father absolutely loved to watch them.  But after living out in Utah when the games were in Salt Lake City and attending events, I’m just so much more interested in them now.  I appreciate all of the hard work and dedication involved with the games–not only from the athletes, but from the host city and all of the volunteers and workers that are involved for years before the games even can begin.

So I’m going to make this a short initial post.  Thanks to everyone who has read this and got this far.  I haven’t really yet decided what I will be blogging about, but I’m hoping that my many interests will give lots of interesting topics.
